Marisa Papen by Mathias Lambrecht. May 2018, Israël. Experience the story below.
May 2018, touchdown Tel Aviv. Leaving the airport we notice a tense atmosphere caused by political conflict. Tomorrow will be the 70th anniversary of the Israeli state and the inauguration of the American embassy in Jerusalem.
No doubt, Jerusalem is a very luring idea at this time. We discuss different possibilities and decide to head on our way.
While lowering the flag, a heated discussion occurs with locals in a passing car. Adrenaline starts rushing. And this is merely a warning for whats next.
After a 45 minute hike we reach the Dead Sea. 4 hours pass by under the burning sun, I feel disorientated, our car is vanished and Marisa is near passing out.
After a while we end up at a camping lodge in the desert where we meet Jordan. He’s pleased by our visit, and offers to take us to a tiny hidden clay beach in the morning.
We’re nurtured and calm. Relaxed and focused. Before we leave, Jordan reads to us a blessing with good guidance. We’re heading to Jerusalem…
Walking fast paced, we trespass the premise, climb a second balcony and there it is… We’re right in front of the wall. “No Complaints”. Road To Liberation by Marisa Papen & Mathias Lambrecht.
