Marisa Papen by Mathias Lambrecht. May 2018, Israël. Experience the story below.
Touchdown Tel Aviv. As soon as we leave the airport we feel a tense atmosphere caused by political conflict. Tomorrow will be the 70th anniversary of the Israeli state and the inauguration of the American embassy in Jerusalem.
Suddenly it all makes sense, that “Jerusalem calling” feeling in all of us. The statement of liberation.
A heated discussion occurs with locals in a passing car for lowering that flag. Adrenaline rushing, but we’re adapting. This was merely a warning for whats next.
We hiked close to an hour to reach the Dead Sea. After 5 hours with about 40+ degrees celcius, and no mineral water left we started suffering from disorientation on the walk back. All about to pass out.
After a while we end up at a camping lodge somewhere in the desert where we meet Jordan. He will take us to a special place in the morning. A tiny hidden clay beach.
We get into a calm and meditative mindset. Relaxed, but focused. Sharp and fearless. Jordan reads to us from the Tora to bless us with love, protection and guidance…
We trespass the premise, climb onto the second balcony and there it is… We’re right in front of the wall. Clothes off, make the shot, clothes on, out. Excecuted in 90 seconds.
